Privacy Policy
Last updated October 14, 2026
Milo Companion (“we”, “us”), based in South Florida, USA, is developing Milo, a humanoid companion robot. We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy. It explains what we collect through this website, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
We collect the information you send us through the waitlist and contact form:
- Your name and email address.
- What you’re contacting us about, such as the early-access waitlist, a store pilot, a partnership, press or investment, or something else.
- Optional details you add, such as your company, role and message.
- Whether you agreed to receive email news about Milo.
When you submit the form, our website host, Netlify, also records your IP address, browser type and the page you submitted from. Netlify screens submissions for spam using Akismet, a service run by Automattic. Netlify may also keep standard technical logs for security and reliability.
This website doesn’t use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers, and we don’t track you across other sites.
How we use it
- If you join the waitlist, to send you news about Milo, including early access and launch updates.
- If you send us a message, to reply and follow up on your pilot, partnership, press, investment or other inquiry.
- To keep the website secure and free of spam.
We don’t sell your information or share it for targeted advertising, and we don’t share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Our legal basis
If you’re in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the UK, the law asks us to explain the legal basis for using your information:
- Waitlist and news emails: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Replying to your message: our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us, or steps you’ve asked us to take before entering into a contract.
- Spam screening and security logs: our legitimate interest in keeping the website safe.
Who we share it with
We share your information only with service providers who help us run this website and communicate with you, and only as needed for those purposes:
- Netlify, Inc. (United States) hosts this website and stores form submissions for us.
- Automattic Inc. runs Akismet, which screens form submissions for spam on Netlify’s behalf.
If we start using an email service to send news about Milo, we’ll add it to this list first. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
International transfers
We’re based in the United States, and your information is stored and processed there. If you’re outside the US, including in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, your information is transferred to the US, where data protection law may differ from yours. Netlify protects these transfers under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, its UK Extension and the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, and the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep waitlist details until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, or until we stop sending news about Milo. We keep messages and inquiry details for up to two years after our last contact with you. You can ask us to delete your information sooner at any time.
Your choices and rights
- You can unsubscribe from our news emails at any time, using the link in those emails or by contacting us. This withdraws your consent, but doesn’t affect anything we did before.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or ask for a copy of it.
- Depending on where you live, you may have other rights, such as the right to object to or restrict how we use your information. If you’re in the EEA or the UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority, though we’d appreciate the chance to help first.
- If you live in a US state with a privacy law, such as California, you have the right to know what we collect and to ask us to delete it. We don’t sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we won’t treat you differently for using your privacy rights.
Children
This website isn’t directed to children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has sent us information, please contact us and we’ll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
Contact us
For any privacy question or request, use the contact form and choose “Something else”. You don’t need to join the waitlist or agree to receive emails to make a request. We’ll reply within one month.
